With more than 120 CD’s to his name, Kirk is one of the world’s most recorded conductors of the past fifty years.

If you are a composer or soloist interested in making a CD or just a track or two, then reach out to Kirk about times he is planning to be with the orchestra and pricing.
Kirk has recording relationships with a number of different orchestras, but his first preference is recording with the Slovak National Symphony, an orchestra in Bratislava made up of the best players from the three great orchestras in that city – the Slovak Philharmonic, the Slovak Opera Orchestra and the Slovak Radio Orchestra. He records in Studio 1 of the Slovak Radio which is the largest recording studio in Europe holding up to three hundred musicians onstage.

If you are a composer or soloist interested in making a CD or just a track or two, then reach out to Kirk about times he is planning to be with the orchestra and pricing. It is hard to generalize about recording prices because it all depends on the number of players, the length of the project and the difficulty of the music, but as an example, a straightforward modern music project for composer or soloist, of 55 minutes would require 5 sessions of 3 or 4 hours each session. Rehearsing is done during recording sessions so that rehearsal and actual recording are next to each other. Depending on the number of musicians, this could cost between $20,000 - $36,000 for everything, including musicians, engineering and mastering, hall, conductor and management fees.

Kirk can make all the arrangements with the orchestra and engineers, all you have to do is show up and sit in the recording booth overlooking the studio and join in the recording experience. We can even book the beautiful hotel for you, within a five minute walk of the studio.

If you are a composer with a concerto but no soloist, then we can find first class soloists to learn your concerto and record it. We have found soloists for piano, violin, trombone, oboe, flute, guitar, oboe d’amore, bassoon, horn and organ concertos over the past ten years.

Generally we need music two weeks in advance, but for an extra cost, you can send files and we will copy the parts in Bratislava.

Bratislava in just 30 miles from Vienna, 120 miles from Budapest and 180 miles from Prague. So a visit for a four day recording should have a few days on either side to see these great cities nearby.
